“Violent Video Games”? Really?

When I was a teenager in the late 1980s; I can remember civic & church groups declaring “Heavy Metal” & “Rap”music as the cause for all of societies problems. Bands that portrayed Violent, Satanic or anti authority lyrics such as Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osborne, Slayer, NWA & Public Enemy were just a fraction of artist that were singled out as “Dangerous”

Now twenty five years later societies nannies have moved on violent video games as the cause of societies illness.

These nannies are now placing blame on any and all things except where it belongs. Personal responsibly, good parenting & respect for human life.

Ozzy Osborne’s music has no more psychic power to convince someone to commit acts of violence than one of the Call of Duty PS3 games to program a player to commit an act of mass murder.

Good parenting, teaching respect for human life & setting down and talking to children about what’s real and what’s fantasy is whats needed.

Get kids involved in activities such as sports, art classes, civic and faith groups. But most importantly be a good parent.

No Elegant Words

No elegant words can ever heal wounds that cut this deep. Not speeches nor ceremonies can fill these voids. We move forward in the hope that rational minds can find common ground as to make any action of terror a relic of the past; only studied in history & government lectures. No God or religion that is followed in any area of the globe would condone the horror of making war on civilian populations. If there’s a deity that would delight in acts of terror , than pure evil does walk among us. Stay alert, never forget & live life in the present.
